an indie rock theological soap opera . by charles schneeflock snow . not dead, only sleeping

Sordid City Blues is on indefinite hiatus so that I can focus on family life. I'll most likely return to it when my daughter is older, at least to wrap things up. I'll also be working on some less deadline-driven projects offline; anything relating to those will be announced here. Thank you all for your readership. -- Charles Schneeflock Snow

Dude. Check out my my gallery.

Owns Big Mecha has pretty much one song, because another thing I can't write is poetry, even well enough to write rock'n'roll lyrics. Anyway, I write Luther singing all scrawly like that because he's one of those singers who's bigger on passion than enunciation, like an early Michael Stipe.

Somebody once asked, and I record it here for posterity, what Owns Big Mecha sounds like. They're loud, raucous, and clearly 60's-influenced, rather like the Young Fresh Fellows. Of course, I don't think that's going to help most people, as most of the Young Fresh Fellows' back catalogue is out of print. They did a double album with front man/musical genius Scott McCaughey's current band the Minus 5, titled Because we Hate You/Let the War against Music Begin. It isn't the best Young Fresh Fellows album, or the best Minus 5 album, but it'll give you an idea, if you care. And both bands rock to hell and back, so you ought to check them out.

"When anyone is disturbed or saddened under the pretext of a good and soul-profiting matter, and is angered against his neighbour, it is evident that this is not according to God: for everything that is of God is peaceful and useful and leads a man to humility and to judging himself." -- St. Barsanuphius the Great
